The Art of Background Paper Decorating
Saturday June 6th 3.30-5.30pm Be prepared to explore several paper decorating “stations” in this fun class of techniques. Each station will illustrate a different method of paper decorating (For example, marbling, watercolor, working with Tyvek, and airbrushing etc.) After a brief introduction class participants will work independently, moving between stations, and creating one-of-a-kind papers for future paper crafting projects! Plan to go home messy, and dress for the occasion!!!
Brown Paper Bag Decorative Papers and Hand Torn Landscape Design
Sunday June 7th 12:00-2.00pm Create rich, textured background papers in this fun, hands-on, messy workshop!! Learn how to make easy but distinctive papers for use in your future paper craft projects. During this class Elaine will also guide you through some of the many landscape design possibilities that are brought to life using these very special papers. She will share with you how to add depth, contrasting color, and texture to your decorative paper scenes. Stamped images will be incorporated to add interest. *Please wear old clothes or an apron. Bring your favorite paper adhesive.
Whimsical Butterfly Diva Ornament and Pin
Saturday June 6th 12:00 – 2:00pm This project is "eye-candy" that will make you smile! Create embossed metal butterfly wings that will soon “take flight” with embellishments. Learn how to mold wax faces that will add character to your art pieces. You will have the opportunity to produce two butterfly divas. The larger one, I chose to hang on my Fichus tree at home, and the smaller one looks great as a pin!!! If you answer yes to any or all of these questions – this class is for you! Do I like working with metal foils? Do I enjoy wearable art that encourages conversation? Am I attracted to shiny things and buttons?
Metal Embossed Nature Journal
Sunday June 7th 3.30-5.30pm Based on birds, woodlands and the colors of nature, this 10" X 10" spiral bound hardback journal is a "must-see" sample at the store! Learn how to create the luscious, brightly colored and highly textured papers that will add richness and dimension to your journals front cover. Images of leaves and metal wings are embossed to form a center piece. Feathers, branches, wire mesh and vintage pictures of birds will be added for embellishment. Class time is limited therefore we will be working on the journal covers ONLY, and not the inside pages.
